Summer Internship Description
We are excited to announce that we are seeking interns for our summer program. The Summer Internship is a four week long program starting July 9, 2018 and ending
August 2, 2018. Interns at AAPF will learn about the inner-workings of a non-profit think tank gaining insight into community organizing, research, and policy analysis. If interested in either law school or academia, this internship may be a great fit. Interns will work 35-40 hours per week. A stipend will be available to cover some expenses.
Primary responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following:
- Developing a database of recent academic writings on intersectionality and intersectional praxis.
- Quarterly Newsletter
- Updating organization information such as publications or other materials
- Reaching out to community organizations to build partnerships for local events AAPF organizes
- Researching racial and gender policies and analyzing their effectiveness
- Assisting operations and development efforts
- Contributing to ongoing projects as needed
*We encourage interns with specialized interests such as graphic design, multimedia experience, previous publications, and such to highlight these experiences.
We welcome college students of all years and majors to apply. While we recognize that the internship will be a development opportunity, interns should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic proficiency in social media applications (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). We are looking for analytical critical thinkers and problem solvers with strong communication and other interpersonal skills.
